Julia P., Insurance Coordinator

Julia is another face at our front desk who helps to keep things running smoothly.  You will generally hear her friendly voice when you call our office.  She is our office assistant and has been with Dr. Sertich for 16 years.   She is the person who will be happy to help you with your scheduling and insurance needs.  She graduated Magna Cum Laude from St. Joseph’s College in 2001, with a degree in psychology, and is also certified in Dental Radiation.  Julia has two beautiful cats and is the Aunt to four great children.  She is an avid gardener and bird watcher.  “I love working with our team here at Merrillville Dental Center, and we have many wonderful patients.  We love to laugh with our patients and make them smile!”

Brenda R., Dental Assistant

Brenda is one of our wonderful assistants.  She is a graduate of Aristotle College in the Dental Assistant program.  She is a Certified Dental Assistant, as well as having a certification in Dental Radiation.  Brenda has over 25 years of experience as a Dental Assistant, with 22 of them as an assistant for Dr. Sertich at Merrillville Dental Center.  She is married with three great children and a beautiful granddaughter.  “Come visit us at the office.  We will take good care of you and your family!”

Tammy M., Dental Assistant

Tammy is another assistant you may have the privilege of seeing when you come to our office.  Tammy has a sweet and friendly demeanor that patients love, and she works hard to put patients at ease.  Tammy has a great sense of humor and makes patients feel like a part of our family.  She has been with Dr. Sertich for 11 years.  She has been married for 21 years and has a beautiful daughter named Caitlin and two adorable grandsons named Gabriel and Chase.  In her spare time, she enjoys gardening and golfing.  “Dr. Sertich is a wonderful boss, and we have a great time here at Merrillville Dental Center.  I enjoy working with our patients and trying to ease their fear of dentistry through laughter.”

Jennifer B., Hygienist

Jen is one of our awesome, competent and knowledgeable hygienists.  She graduated from Prairie State College in 2005, with a degree in Dental Hygiene and a certification in in local anesthesia.  She has worked with Dr. Sertich for 5 years.  Patients appreciate her chairside manner, which helps put them at ease.  She is very thorough, yet gentle.  She has 2 daughters, ages 8 and 9.  “I pride myself in staying on top of the latest technology and continuing education to provide my patients with the superior care they deserve.”

Miranda A., Hygienist

Mandy is one of our favorite hygienists at Merrillville Dental Center.  She graduated from Indiana University Northwest in 2000 and has been with our team since 2004.  Mandy is friendly, gentle and loves educating her patients on their oral health.  She’s also an incredible team player and is proud to help do her part. “If I can be a part of restoring someone’s oral health and make them smile, then I’ve done my job.:  Mandy has been married to Joe since 2004.  She loves going to Michigan and spending time with her husband and two children.

Tiffany Z. Hygienist

Tiffany graduated from Indiana University Northwest in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene and a minor in biology. Tiffany currently holds a license to administer local anesthesia and practice dental hygiene in both Indiana and Illinois. She was also the recipient of the 2015 Crest/Oral-B award for “Outstanding clinical treatment”. With over 16 years in customer service, she has a wonderfully friendly demeanor and loves working with people, specializing in children. “I feel it is of the utmost importance to create a fun and educational experience for kids when visiting the dental office. I believe that in doing so it will help to alleviate a chance for future dental anxiety and foster a lifetime of good oral health”.  Her and her husband Jake have three beautiful children and in her spare time she enjoys cooking, painting, and crafting.
